The Fest was awesome! I knew it! When we got there, the reggae band was on. A whole slew of people brought those stupid chair-in-a-bag things and were setting them in ever-increasing rows toward the back of the audience area. No one was standing up, no one was dancing. I was like, "Oh, this has to stop" so I herded the posse over and we stood in the middle, between the chairs and the stage (but not rudely obstructing the view - the stage was elevated enough). Stupid all-ages events, don't those minivan-driving moms know they are supposed to drop off their kids and then leave?

ANYWAY. The reggae band was SUPER good, the other band was talented but it was just lame pop rock stuff, with no enthusiasm behind it, so enough of that. There was one of those Power Team dewds on during the next set change so the posse and I went across the street to a grocery store to procure food goodness.

I was standing in the checkout line. I noticed, in the line a couple of checkouts down, a bald guy with a goatee. I thought "He looks suspiciously like the lead singer for the Supertones." So I eyed him suspiciously. He looked at me, and his gaze lingered. "Aha!" I thought. "He sees me eyeing him suspiciously!" We looked at each other very frankly for a moment, then looked away, then looked back. Should I go over and ask him if he's who I think he is? These were my thoughts:

"Maybe I'm just imagining that it's him because I'm anticipating seeing them later. Maybe it's really just a local dewd. Maybe he was just checking me out, not noticing that I might be recognizing him. Besides, even if it IS him, he's probably buying Preparation H or something and would rather not be accosted. I'll just wait and see later if it was him."

It was.

So, in a rare moment of timidity, I missed an opportunity to have a stupid "I talked to someone in a REAL BAND" story to tell people who don't care. Dang.

So, Mojo, wherever you are . . . I'm the blonde girl from the grocery store in Calistoga. You probably don't remember me. What's that? You do? Teehee!

Anyway. So who went? Danny, Bobby, Anya, Stephanie (another kid from the youth small group) and I, in Danny's pink Hyundai. I did invite Politics Josh but he had to be back for work or some lameness and therefore didn't come. That's good. We didn't call each other today. Also good. The feelings are strong, but I am NOT ruled by emotions.

Tuesday morning, I am driving to Santa Rosa to get the new Chevelle. I saw the video for "The Red" the other day and all I can say is that song is beautiful.
