Hearing: Moby/Extreme Ways Doing: Putting off Spanish homework Wearing: PJs *** If I abuse my body, I get sick. I'm going to bed. Soon. Last week felt really bizarre for some reason, though not necessarily in a bad way. We had this really weird break at school, with Wednesday and Thursday off for "Professional Development Activities," then Friday and Monday off for the Presidents' Day deal. I was lucky to also have Friday off from work so I got a nice three-day break. Navy Josh has been around since he has a sizeable chunk of leave before being stationed in San Diego. It's great having him around; I love that kid to death. On Thursday night I went with him and one of his friends to see a sneak preview of Daredevil. We also went to Olive Garden but I had already eaten so I just drank coffee the whole time we were there . . . I think I drank too much because I got to sleep verrry late that night. Friday, I went thrift-store shopping with my mom. Best purchase: corduroy pants, because just a few days ago I was whining about how I can never find cords that are long enough for me. Navy Josh told me I was to plan our Valentine's Day outing and that I had an unlimited budget (gotta love those service boys with paid leave). I found out that there was a Donkey Basketball game at his old high school so, of course, we went to that first. Stepping into the gym lobby and seeing people riding donkeys around the basketball court was one of the most surreal and disturbing things I've ever seen. I had never heard of it before, but after a little Internet investigation, apparently it's been a popular fundraiser in small towns ever since the depression. As you can imagine, the only way to go from Donkey Basketball was down . . . we gave a ride home to a friend of a friend, drove to Scandia to play miniature golf and air hockey, ate at In-n-Out, went to a playground, and came back to my house around one. Luckily for us [oi], Barb Wire was on. I kept dozing off and finally went to bed around 3:30, then went to work a few hours later. And tomorrow should be the best day of my life thus far.
