Ok ok, I know that putting up that weather thing that updates automatically doesn't really count as updating my diary here. But for some reason I was really excited when I saw that on weather.com, so I figured I would put one up so you can all see what the weather is like here. You'll notice that right now it's stinking cold! Anyway, so many people have been updating like mad! And I totally haven't!! My excuses/reasons are thus: A) I'm in summer school, taking 7 units. That means, for instance, that I have less than a week to know all about national income accounting. I must say that I was rather leery of taking Economics in the summer after reading about Stumblebee's torturous last semester. B) I got a second job. I zip-tie pipes into loops for a geothermal heating and cooling company. The company is cool, the job is not bad. It pays 50% more than my other job, which is way cool. C) Without any commitments made, I'm on the church worship team so I play guitar as much as possible, go to practice on Wednesday nights, and go to church two hours early on Sundays. For some reason I don't mind any of it. Except I just learned how to do shuffle licks and my pinky finger is all sore. D) Did I mention I'm going to summer school? Did I forget to mention that school is an hour away and I go four days a week? It's not bad, the drive is very pretty and I'd much rather have a one-hour commute through the Napa valley than a one-hour commute through freeway traffic. Oh but today I filed my petition to graduate (AA/IGETC), which was a good feeling. Hopefully there won't be any hangups because the school changed a bunch of its requirements and stuff after I had completed like 53 of the 60 necessary units. I talked to an advisor who said it should still work out, so here's hoping. I'm stoked because we have Thursday off from school and for some reason I forgot to schedule myself to work at the motel that day and I can't work at EES that day so I finally get to go to the lake and wear a swimsuit for the second time this summer!!! (the first was to wash my car; I don't think that counts) Oh and I forgot to mention that after I posted my show and tell way back yonder, I got a personal email from a Diaryland celebrity! Oh my yes!! I felt pretty silly for actually getting excited to see it sitting there, but hey. I don't know, I don't really have any sort of justification for that. Anyway, I even added him to my AIM buddy list but I haven't messaged him yet. For some reason it seems like the stakes would be higher than normal and my usual self would have to be amplified into a new realm of wittiness to be worth his precious online time. Have I mentioned that I am like the least star-strikeable person ever? I feel no compulsion to talk to a celebrity if I see one (I speak of opportunities to talk to band members), and the whole autographing thing is beyond me. Like whatever, they're people too, just doing what they do. Why don't you have your plumber autograph your toilet? I mean, after all, you love his work, right? |
