I wrote a pretty little song on my guitar today while I was at work. My fishy, Kazeez, is all pale and sick -looking and acting paranoid. You may wonder how a fish can act paranoid, and you probably think it is just my immaturity anthropomorphizing his actions, but come on . . . I shook some food onto the water and he came over and ate a piece, then swam to the other corner of the bowl (ok so there's not a corner because it's round, but the other end, ok?), then sank down and laid on the rocks and looked at the food like it was going to come get him. Now he's wandering placidly around, looking confused. Oh wait, that's normal. Oh but what is not normal is my archives page. It's totally whacked and I don't know how to fix it. This isn't a new problem, I've just ignored it. Also, I want to make a few changes to this layout but the layering makes it complicated for my skill level and when I try to change something little, it makes everything weird. ::whines:: Today I heard from Leticia, who, along with her husband, is facilitating my move to Mexico. She gave me some details on how to handle my money while I'm there and said I can come whenever I feel like it. So I'll probably definitely be gone come end of August. Oh I never mentioned my latest guitar goodies. hehe. I know no one cares, especially those who don't play and don't know what I'm talking about, but anyway . . . I bought a hard case, wee! That's pretty exciting, even though it's not even my guitar. Jesse (whose guitar it is) said he's cool with me taking it to Mexico even though he won't sell it to me, so yeah. And, in the midst of hanging out at the guitar shop getting the case and stuff I also kicked down for some new strings. The kid that works there is really cool and knowledgeable and I ended up getting Bluegrass strings, so the lower 3 strings are the sizes that go with a set of 13s and the high ones are the size that would go with 12s. It sounds cool. Best of all, I scored a free poster. It says "I can't tell you . . . but I can play it for you" and shows this darkish kind of picture of a guy playing guitar. Then it has a cheesy Epiphone slogan, too, but it's still supercool. Final notes (because I'm sleepy): I still need to see all of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Johnny Depp is not sexy without makeup (a la Pirates of the Caribbean). Navy Josh left me a voice mail today, returning my call, and said he misses me. Aww. : ) |
