he's a maniac

Deedeedoo . . .

I read through a few of my latest entries. Depressing!! I'm not depressed, honestly. Or angsty even. I guess the monumental noteworthy happenings have just seemed a little on the downside lately.

However . . . I have consistently forgotten to chronicle my boss' journey right off the deep end.

He's a huge collector. Like, he owns 10000 records and his kitchen cupboards are filled with 50+ collector's edition cereal boxes type of thing. I kid you not. So, one day he was hanging out at WalMart talking to the dewd in charge of the toy department. One day a long time ago I bought myself a Powerpuff Girls tshirt, and ever since then everybody buys me PPG gear. Anyway, David (my manager) discovers that the first wave of PPG merchandise (?) is being pulled off the shelves in preparation for the movie to be released later this year. So, all that's left is one of these, two of those, etc. And he goes NUTS. He bought me a couple of watches, an umbrella, a coloring book, some pencils, a cup, and a couple of dolls. I was amazed.

Then, he went BACK. He went through every department looking for PPG merch. I stopped by his house and he showed me his display - two purses, another watch, five more umbrellas, a couple pairs of sunglasses, a beach bag, a beach towel, a bath towel, more coloring books, a cell phone purse thing, like five tshirts, and pillowcases. I'm probably forgetting things. Anyway. He's out of control. He decided that I was going to have the BEST Powerpuff Girl collection ever. In fact, he told me he ran out of cash before he could buy the rest of the bedding but that he was going back for it. I called him later and left a message asking him not to, but I don't know if it was too late.

Add all that to the four dolls, two purses, two shirts, two pair of socks, self-inking stamps, two coin banks, comic books, and other stuff I already had . . . yikes. It's kind of disturbing to me because here's me with my room full of extravagant toys while little children go to bed hungry.
